Floor preparation, concrete grinding and levelling
The finished floor is only as good as the surface underneath it. We take responsibility for what is under the floor, not only what you can see on handover.

Floor preparation is often treated as the rough part of the job, something to get through quickly before the visible flooring goes down. In reality it is one of the most important stages. An inexperienced operator can gouge a slab, leave grinder ridges, miss high spots, mix levelling products incorrectly or install over dust, laitance and moisture. The floor can look acceptable on handover and the problems appear later as movement, hollow areas, adhesive failure, cracking, peaking seams or imperfections telegraphing through the finished surface.
Professional concrete grinding
Mechanical grinding removes weak or contaminated surface material and creates the correct profile for primers, levelling compounds, adhesives, coatings and flooring systems to bond successfully. It is the difference between a floor that is stuck down and a floor that stays stuck down.
Levelling, flood coats and smoothing
Flat and level are not the same thing. A floor can be smooth but follow a slope, or appear level while carrying localised humps and low spots that affect flooring, equipment and transitions. We assess the slab with straightedges, levels and lasers, then determine whether it needs isolated patching, high spot grinding, feather finishing, ramping or a full self levelling flood coat.
Silica safety is not negotiable
Our first priority is controlling dust at its source. Grinding equipment is fitted with shrouds and connected to industrial HEPA filtered extraction appropriate to each task. Regular team training, along with routine inspection and maintenance of the equipment and extraction systems, is part of the same process. If you are engaging a subcontractor, this is worth asking about before they are on site rather than after.
