Polished concrete floors
Ground, honed and polished to a specified finish, with the substrate corrected first. Durable, low maintenance and unforgiving of poor preparation.
Request a quoteThe slab decides the finish
Polished concrete is not a coating laid over a floor, it is the floor. What you can achieve depends on the slab you already have: its strength, its flatness, how it was placed and finished, what has been spilled on it and how much aggregate sits near the surface. Assessing that honestly before quoting is the difference between a finish you are happy with and a finish you tolerate.
Grind, hone, polish
The process runs through progressively finer diamond stages, with densifying and sealing specified to the exposure level and the finish required. Aggregate exposure, gloss level and cut depth are decisions to make before the first pass, not something to negotiate halfway through.
Preparation is most of the job
Crack and joint treatment, patching, remediation of previous repairs, removal of coatings and adhesives, and correction of slab defects all happen before polishing starts. The same preparation discipline that goes into our commercial and gym floors applies here, including shrouded grinding and HEPA filtered dust extraction.
Where it suits, and where it does not
Polished concrete is excellent in warehouses, retail, hospitality, showrooms and gym reception and circulation areas. It is not the right answer everywhere. On a heavily patched slab, a slab with no usable aggregate, or a free weight zone taking repeated impact, we will tell you so and recommend something that will actually hold up.
